  • Jan Wollner

    Jan Wollner is an art historian and theorist. He studied art history at the Charles University Faculty of Arts, with international fellowships at the Freie Universität in Berlin, the International Cultural Centre in Krakow, and the Forschungsstelle Osteuropa in Bremen. He received his PhD from the Department of Theory and History of Art at UMPRUM and has taught at this institution since 2013. His research interests are the history of art and culture after World War II. He was co-editor of the volume Svést Labe do Berounky ([Diverting the Elbe into the Berounka], 2011) on unrealised projects in Czechoslovak art. The author of many scholarly studies, he most recently contributed to the volume Jindřich Chalupecký. Texty a kontexty kritika umění ([J. C., Texts and Contexts of Art Criticism], 2023). In addition to research, he is active as an art critic and journalist, publishing in such periodicals as A2, Art Antiques, Artalk, Ateliér, Deník referendum, Era 21, Flash Art, Fotograf, Labyrint revue, Lidové noviny and more.
